Wine Tasting Room Manager
Established winery located in the Santa Ynez Valley
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Tasting Room Manager will manage and lead the daily operations within a high-volume tasting room. This position will provide leadership, support, motivation and development of team members, while creating a positive environment that encourages ownership and accountability in providing a quality guest and club member experience. The Tasting Room Manager will monitor and ensure exceptional service, food & wine quality and presentation. The Tasting Room Manager is a key contributor to meeting or exceeding departmental financial goals and will prioritize improving operational compliance to company standards and adherence to all Santa Barbara County and State of California laws.
Work within the operational budget and meet and exceed financial goals;
Oversee the tasting room staff including training, scheduling, educating, motivating and monitoring activities, while ensuring that all operational aspects of the tasting room are covered adequately on a daily basis, while prioritizing the highest standards of hospitality and service is afforded the guests;
Coach and document tasting room staff performance, as needed; ensure the tasting room team is following company safety parameters at all times; ensure all tasting room operations, including opening, closing and general upkeep of the premises are to the highest standards;
Provide oversight of daily point of sale close out procedures, cash handling and reporting;
Assist in tasting room, with private tastings, tours and off-site events, as needed;
Provide oversight of managing wine, merchandise inventory and ensure proper merchandising of available products for sale;
Manage and create tasting list content and presentation;
Carry out new policies and procedures determined by management and ensure all employees are updated with pertinent information;
Work in conjunction with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience;
Actively review process and procedures to streamline efficiencies and remove challenges for front line team members;
Other duties as assigned.

Previous experience in a winery tasting room, required;
Strong planning and organizational skills, judgment and problem resolution skills and exemplary written and oral communication skills;
Ability to work flexible schedule to meet needs of business, including evening and weekend shifts and periodic offsite events.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, with an emphasis on business, hospitality, or operations;
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management role within a high volume winery tasting room;
Strong technology proficiency including POS system and internet-based productivity tools like Microsoft 365; Wine Direct experience is a plus.
